MMA Language Club Hosted “Portuguese Fundamental Course”

Organized by MMA Language Club and sponsored by Macao Foundation, the "Portuguese Fundamental Course" commenced recently. Ms. Zoe Lau, Acting Assistant Secretary General of MMA, attended the opening ceremony of the course, which will be held on Saturdays from June to August.

To align with the Macao SAR Government's initiative to nurture bilingual Chinese-Portuguese talents and promote multicultural exchange, MMA Language Club has launched this short-term Portuguese Fundamental Course targeting the local community. The course aims to help participants acquire foundation Portuguese language skills to strengthen regional linguistic advantages. The curriculum covers basic phonetics, common vocabulary, and practical conversation logic, while introducing fundamental cultural knowledge of offering insights into Portuguese-speaking countries to enhance cross-cultural communication skills. This lays a solid foundation for participants who aspire to pursue Portuguese-related careers or further their studies in Portuguese-speaking countries, helping them unlock more development opportunities in Macao’s diversified job market. This year’s course received an enthusiastic response, attracting active participation from professionals in healthcare, education, law, supply chain management, and public administration, as well as tertiary students and MMA members, fully reflecting the community’s keen interest in and support for Portuguese language learning and cultural exchanges.

Language Club is a special interest group of MMA. It organizes language gatherings on an irregular basis aiming to provide practical learning and encourage participants to engage in foreign languages through various activities, thereby enhancing their expressive and communication skills.
