HR Club Organized Study Tour to Huawei
In order to strengthen local human resources practitioners’ understanding of the development of high-tech industries, promote the exchange of corporate management experience among enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, and further enhance the level of integration between Macao and Hengqin, the Human Resources Professionals Club (HR Club) under the Macau Management Association (MMA) recently organized a “Human Resources Management Study Tour” to Huawei’s Songshan Lake R&D Campus (Ox Horn Campus) in Dongguan. The delegation was led by Mr. Benjamin Hong, Vice-Chairman of the MMA HR Club and Head of Delegation, accompanied by Mr. Keegan Cheang, Council Vice-Chairman and Honorary Treasurer of MMA, and Ms. Zoe Lau, Acting Assistant Secretary General of MMA, and brought together around 30 representatives from major local corporates.
The delegation received a warm welcome from Huawei’s expert representatives, who guided the group through several landmark facilities within the Songshan Lake R&D Campus, including the Descartes Exhibition Hall, Xiliu Beipo Village and Sanyapo Library. As an important platform for showcasing Huawei’s enterprise-level solutions and core products, the Descartes Exhibition Hall offered participants a comprehensive view of Huawei’s innovations and industry applications in cutting-edge fields such as 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. Through demonstrations of real business scenarios, participants gained an in-depth understanding of how Huawei empowers digital transformation across industries with technology.
Subsequently, the delegation visited Xiliu Beipo Village, an extensive R&D base that brings together tens of thousands of research professionals and serves as one of Huawei’s core global R&D hubs, giving participants first-hand experience of Huawei’s distinctive innovation ecosystem and working atmosphere. The delegation also visited Sanyapo Library, which is hailed as the largest library in Asia with a collection of 90,000 titles totalling 110,000 volumes, reflecting the great importance Huawei places on knowledge sharing and technological innovation. Participants remarked that the thoughtful design of the campus as Huawei’s R&D base, in terms of the working environment, team collaboration and work efficiency, offered fresh inspiration on modern R&D management.
Following the campus tour, both parties held a discussion session on human resources management. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges with Huawei’s management team on topics such as talent development, HR operations in smart campuses, and corporate culture building, with the discussion generating a lively response. The exchange allowed Macao’s HR practitioners to gain a deeper understanding of the daily work atmosphere and environment of Huawei’s technology development teams, while experiencing first-hand the development model of it’s smart campus. Furthermore, through learning from and exchanging ideas with the local enterprise representatives, participants deepened their understanding of high-tech development and smart transformation trends in the Greater Bay Area, gaining fresh inspiration and ideas for talent cultivation back in Macao. Participants agreed that the corporate visit not only enhanced their understanding of the current operations and management models of high-tech industries in the Greater Bay Area, but also effectively broadened their professional horizons.
Looking ahead, MMA will continue to uphold its mission of promoting corporate management and professional development in Macao, and in line with national strategies and the development needs of the Macao SAR, MMA will organize more exchange and study visits to foster deeper cooperation between Macao and the Greater Bay Area in the fields of corporate management and talent development.
