“Bank of China Trophy” GMC Regional Final Prize Presentation Dinner 2018
Organized by MMA and sponsored by Macao Foundation, the “Bank of China Trophy” Global Management Challenge Regional Final Prize Presentation Dinner 2018 had been successfully completed on January 17. The Champion of Macau goes to “Horizon”, a mixed team from Macau University of Science and Technology and Bank of China Macau Branch and will represent Macau to compete with 30 countries and regions in the International Final in Yekaterinburg, Russia this coming June for the World Champion title.
The Prize Presentation Dinner was held at the Grand Ballroom, 8th Floor, StarWorld Hotel at 7:30pm. Mr. Ip Peng Kin, Chief of Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture and representatives of sponsors and special cooperation attended the event.
Mr. Lau Veng Seng, Council Chairman of MMA, stated that GMC was introduced to Macau in the nineties aiming to act as a platform for local managers to foster and develop their systems thinking, right decision making, flexibility and managerial skills to reach the international benchmark.
This year, GMC had attracted approximately 200 teams of enrollment from Macau and Hong Kong. Both Champion teams will represent Macau and Hong Kong to compete for the World Championship.
For Macau region, a total of 108 teams were registered in the game, including 89 student teams and 19 corporate and mixed teams. For Hong Kong region, a total of 72 teams were registered, including 70 student teams and 2 corporate and mixed teams. Participating teams are required to manage a stock listed company and team members will be playing different roles of a company, i.e., the department head of production, sales, human resources, finance, research and development etc., aiming to achieve the highest investment performance.
After two rounds of elimination in more than two months, the Champion of Macau goes to “Horizon”, a mixed team from Macau University of Science and Technology and Bank of China Macau Branch and the 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up go to “Destiny” from Tai Fung Bank Limited and “Young Team” from Macau University of Science and Technology respectively. For Hong Kong region, the Champion of Hong Kong goes to “ACE”, a mixed team from Yellow River Securities Limited, Ping An Securities Limited, Cithara Investment International Limited and First Shanghai Capital Limited. The 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up go to “most” from Prudential Plc, AJ International Holdings Limited and K. Wah International Holding Limited and “Queen” from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University respectively.
