Library Opening Hours

 

The opening hours of the Library are determined in accordance with the needs of MIM.

Admission to the Library

 

Teachers, students, MMA members and staff with valid library cards are entitled to enter and use the facilities of the Library.

Library users should observe the following rules at all times in the Library:

Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited in the Library.

Library patrons should not make noise or acts in any ways that may disturb other people in the Library.

Mobile phones must remain turned off in the Library at all times.

No games in any form are allowed in the Library.

Pets should not be allowed in the Library.

No library items shall be taken out from the Library until they have been properly checked out at the Circulation Counter. Any infringement of this clause may be considered as a theft.

All users are liable for the costs of repair and/or replacement of any loss/mutilation of library books and other types of library materials issued to them as follows: Original edition - Twice their current estimated prices.

The Library cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.

No library books or other types of library materials may be checked out unless it has been catalogued and is issued by a member of the library staff in accordance with proper borrowing procedures.

Material(s) borrowed must be returned to the Library on or before the due date.

Library materials other than the Circulation are not to be charged out of the Library. Under exceptional circumstances users may obtain special permission from the librarian's office to borrow such materials for a short duration of time.

All loans are subject to the recall by the Library for inventory management.urposes. Recalled items must be returned to the Library on the specified date(s). During the period of inventory management, the Circulation Services of the Library will be temporarily closed.

Academic staff can request certain library materials to be placed on the reserve section for class use purpose.

Book borrowing renewals may be done through the network or made providing the books are brought back on or before the due date. The time of renewal is arranged as follows: Users may renewal book loan informing the Library in the counter. All borrowers are subject to one consecutive time of renewal.

Overdue fine: Borrowers are responsible for returning their loans on or before the due date (If the due date is holiday, the borrowers return books next day, will not be fined). For overdue items, the rate of fine is as follows: MOP3.00- per day for each item (AV materials are charged the same.)

In the case of being charged for overdue fine and book missing, users will automatically be suspended from further borrowing.

Care must be taken to avoid any breach of copyrights in using the copying machine in the library. Users are warned that they are fully responsible for any legal consequences in their misuse of the Library's copying machine.
